While the release of Overwatch 2 has been a bit muddied thanks to Diablo 4 Gold the sequel-that's-not-really a sequel rollout/F2P transition, there's little doubt that Diablo 4, an actual sequel, is going to be an absolute monster for a beleaguered Blizzard.
There are reports being circulated which suggest that Diablo 4 is a lot closer than people have believed. Microsoft Central's Jez Cordon and Xbox Era are both saying the fact that Diablo 4 is set to launch in April 2023 with preorders starting in December. It is likely for Diablo 4 will have a big presence at the December Game Awards, possibly when the exact date is set to be announced, or when preorders will be available.
It's really difficult to believe the fact that Diablo 4 could be just six months from now. We've glimpsed very minimal footage of the game, in general, though we have gotten huge, lengthy blog posts on the game's various systems, most recently some information about the game being a live service, and how it wasn't likely to sell the same amount of power as its demented mobile game, Diablo Immortal.
It has been extremely easy to doubt Blizzard due to the chaos within that company which involved the abuse of workers and numerous high-profile resignations, including the initial director who was responsible for Diablo 4 itself. However, I can say that absolutely everything I have read about and seen in Diablo 4 has looked fantastic and is exactly what I have been anticipating to see from the game.
There is no indication that we will be advancing into something that would be a shambles such as the Auction House, and barring any kind of Error 37 launch issues, I have trouble seeing why this won't turn out to cheap Diablo IV Gold be a major hit at a point when Blizzard really needs one.
